Feedburner for free!!!I was kind of expecting this news after I read that Google has acquired Feedburner for an undisclosed (obviously) amount. Given the philosophy (or business model if you would) of Google of giving out goodies for free, it was not really a surprise that Feedburner's paid offerings under their  program called as Feedburner TotalStats and MyBrand were made available to everyone for free on 3rd July 2007.

I have been burning my feeds on Feedburner for close to 3 years starting with my first blog on blogger and now here on my own website / weblog and have seen it grow from just a feed burning service to a service that gives me a lot of information about the usage of my content, the visitors, where they come from, what are they searching for and are they clicking anywhere. I also have another service that tracks the visits to my website from Sitemeter.com but again it is that kind of offering which gives you some basic things for free and asks you to pay for more. I am fine with it, but really with Google gobbling up companies like this and opening up their offerings for free, why would I even want to go for paid services?

I am very happy that now I can get most of my statistics at one place and now I am looking forward to more...
